11.JOB TITLE : BRANCH MANAGER (LOMBARD TYRES ALBERTON BRANCH)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To Manage the Branch & to represent LOMBARD TYRES on retail and wholesale level to all members of the public, registered retreaders and dealers.

KEY AREAS :

MANAGE BRANCH AND STAFF

a) Maintain and enforce sound operational practices,
b) Develop and maintain sound employee relationships by:-

• Keep branch neat and tidy;
• Follow operational procedure;
o Ensuring compliancy by adhering to the set company policy and procedures as underwritten in the Manual of Procedure.
o Achieving at least the minimum grading allowed on the company’s efficiency and compliancy evaluations. (R2E)
• Lead by example;
• Responsible for opening and closing of the Branch
• Responsible for Security & responding on an alarm activations;
• Peruse daily GP report and implement corrective action;
• Ensuring prompt and efficient support to all employees;
• Following up on complaints and initiating corrective action;
• Providing technical training for operations & retail products;
• Following up on, and assisting in, staff related problems.
• Cultivate a culture of succession planning in the branch

SALES PLANNING

• Identifying target accounts and potential/selected dealer accounts on a geographical basis;
• Achieving sales and profit objectives by monitoring and concentrating on a sales mix in orders;
• Set stock and control thereof on a weekly basis;
• Identifying opportunities for sales and marketing of the branch and the Company as a whole.

SALES TARGETS

Ensure that sales targets are met by:-

• Motivating and supporting all staff at branch level, and under direct supervision;
• Inform staff of required GP% generating sales;
• Monitoring performance on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis;
• Identifying problem product lines and initiating corrective action;
• Monitoring developments and competitor activities in the assigned area and communicating it to Management.
• Selling the Company’s merchandise at the most competitive prices.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS

Develop and maintains sound customer relationships by:-

• Ensuring prompt and efficient support service to all customers;
• Following up on complaints and initiating corrective action;
• Providing technical data for retail products;
• Following up on, and assisting in, delivery problems to customers.
• Monitor and pursue lost or declining business ventures

CREDIT CONTROL

Keep daily sales outstanding within prescribed levels by:-

• Checking with credit matters such as account queries, proof of deliveries, copies of invoices and collection of cheques;
• Discussing and reviewing Post Due Analysis Reports on a monthly basis at branch sales meetings, and recommend corrective action.

REPORTING LINE

Report to Management on a monthly basis in respect of:-

• Daily reporting;
• Monthly planning and written feed-back report on previous month, to be submitted on the last working day of the month.
• Stock report.
